She did a really great job on Mysterious Ways.

She was the science source of the show.
Always doing the experiences, wearing a lot of black, fan of Poe and not very good social skills.
Like a non-mutant Tessa.

I think Alisen would do a great x-movie Sage.

To semi-bump this discussion.. smiley

Catherine Bell.
5'11 and half Iranian. She's fluent in the Persian language Farsi- which is completely irrelevant- but I thought I'd throw in a few facts.

A nice pic of Catherine's.......face (infamously known because they are real)

Short hair pic, for the short haired Tessa.

She's a very good actress too- probably known for the JAG series- and her figure. I've never seen her play a 'Sage-like' character I've got to admit- but I think she easily could.

I'd considered Catherine Bell. I hadn't realized she's so tall.

I thought you would have considered her- you did think of some pretty unknown people a few pages earlier- and she's not that obscure in America (although she is over here in Britain so I wasn't entirely sure)
But I didn't see her written down in the thread (?)- so I thought why not.

And the height thing varies: 5'10 or 5'11- but the site I usually take as the 'truth' listed 5'11. One listed 5'8- which was strange.

Still sticking with Rhona Mitra (it's been months since this was last discussed with yourself- hasn't anyone swayed your opinion just a little?) smiley

My first choice remains "no one." It is my opinion that a movie appearance could negatively affect Tessa's portrayal in the books.

I think it's the short hair that kept me from mentioning Catherine B before - I think it is an important characterization element that Tessa's hair is long, worn up, not short. Also, I hadn't seen any pictures where Catherine B had a Sage demeanor (if that makes any sense)

I still think Rhona would make a good Sage. She has the right degree of facial expressiveness.

For the most part, I've been using this thread as a "what would Tessa look like if she were real" thread, not "who could play Tessa well."

We still haven't seen a really good closeup of Alan Davis' version of Tessa's face, but from what we have seen, I think AD's Sage resembles Rachel Weisz:

Maybe I'm too picky, but I don't want Tessa having such thick eyebrows. tongue

I like thick eyebrows. However, Rachel W's could be thinned a bit.

IMO, it's the cheekbones where she doesn't look Sagelike.

Another Rachel Weisz:

She's dressed in a Tessa-like fashion here.

That probably makes it a lot easier. And I agree- I don't want to see Tessa in the films either- her role in a film wouldn't do the character justice at all- and you know what the comics are like. Following the films- which irritates me immensely.

It makes perfect sense- although I'm a bit clueless as to what the 'Sage demeanor' is like?

You mean Sage has 'sharper' cheekbones (?) Actually that last Rachel pic suprised me a bit- she has a lot of 'Sage' going on imo.

Calm, serene, reserved, aloof, not overtly emotional. Elegant and graceful - even in Hellfire lingerie.

Exactly - Sage has well-defined, sharp cheekbones - but not blade-sharp.

She's beautiful, but IMO in the first picture, the shape and spacing of her eyes doesn't look Sagelike. She does have the cheekbones and jawline. In the last picture she shows the Sage demeanor. The pinup pose in the third picture is something I avoid when linking pictures to this thread. IMO, Tessa doesn't strike those poses - she carries herself with grace and elegance.

I'm probably guilty of overanalyzing this subject, like I tend to over-analyze everything to do with Sage.

I've looked at a dozen or so other pics, and her eyes look more Sagelike in all of them. It must have been the angle in that first picture you linked. I have to say she's more olive than I see Sage as being - I like a pale Tessa.

I think she looks Sagelike here:
http://almudenafernandez.free.fr/almud533.jpg
Here's one with sunglasses. Too bad they're not ruby Juliets:
http://almudenafernandez.free.fr/almud444.jpg
I'd like to see Tessa wear something like this (remember her red dress from XXM 20):

I think Angelina Jolie is perfect for this role. Larocca's Sage pratically his Angelina. I mean it looks like Larocca took a picture of Jolie and drew her out on paper. So I am gonna have to go with Angelina Jolie.

Angelina's never been my first choice, but I think she could do a good Sage.

I'm probably in a minority in my belief that the Tessa - Angelina resemblance isn't that close.

I looove Angelina... but I still think Kate Beckinsale would be a better choice.

From a pure acting standpoint...Linda Fiorentino.
http://www.filmrecensiepagina.nl/img/lf005.jpg
She's probably too old, and doesn't really resemble Tessa. However, she can do intimidating like few others. It would be easy to believe that Linda's Sage could make a linebacker-sized Bishop nervous.

I'm in the process of watching Underworld. Kate could make a good Sage. A question occurs to me: Would you mind if a movie Tessa had an accent? Assume for the sake of discussion that it wouldn't have an adverse effect on her comic portrayal.
