xx Claremont talks about Sage.
« Thread started on: Feb 2nd, 2005, 11:28am »

Quote:
As for Sage (sigh) -- the reason for her last panel in 454 was not to deny her name or what-have-you. It was to establish / emphasize her change in loyalties in what I hoped were clear and unambiguous terms. "Tessa" was the name she was known by as Shaw's subordinate and a member of the Hellfire Club. Now, as an independent agent, she prefers to be known as "Sage." The former has not been erased, it was merely being used as a technical device to establish the current status quo of the character.

Sometimes, some folks take things *way* too seriously. smiley

I continue to find no cause for optimism.

I find no real optimism in the statement either... but at least we get an answer to an obvious question. undecided

Maybe, just maybe her house will remain untouched...

When was the last time we had some good news about Sage?

Or, more likely, it will be eliminated to tie off the last loose end from her now terminated association with the team and tenure in the book.

July of 2004.
I know it was a rhetorical question...but I couldn't resist.

The team does seem a little crowded at the moment to the point where he may have planned to rotate out characters for extended periods of time in order to give others the chance to be featured. There's Magma and Cannonball that haven't been around for much if not all of Uncanny since reload. I'm afraid now it's Sage's turn. I don't like it, but it looks that way to me. I wish it would be Storm, Wolverine, or even Nightcrawler's turn already!

Me:

CC's phrase "The fate of Sage's house" gives me little hope that we'll ever see Sage in her house again. It will be another log on the aborted idea/plot/theme/ bonfire. Worst case: Betsy moves into the carriage house.

I think either [Spiral & Mojo], or [Roberto & Sage].

How was X acting like a novice? She got nailed by Sage. Lots of people in their time have been nailed by Sage, it isn't a novice fault -- especially since the whole point of the exercise was to use her as a "stalking horse" to draw Sage into the open so Iceman could take her down. And as for the fight in the interrogation room, hey, she's fighting a WarSkrull. Even Logan got slammed by one of them, remember?

As for Sage acting weird -- plus ce change, plus ce meme chose, dude.
